Packing is the part of moving most people underestimate. Boxes take longer to fill than expected, fragile items need more protection than expected, and the last-minute panic-packing the night before a move is how breakages happen. SmartyMoves provides full and partial packing services across Manchester — boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons all supplied. Packing can be booked on its own or combined with a house removal or flat removal. Run by Julian and operated by Britania Logistic LTD (Company No. 12660219) since 2020. No deposits. No subcontractors. 116 five-star Google reviews.
What's included in every packing service
- All packing materials supplied Boxes, tape, bubble wrap, protective paper, wardrobe cartons, and mattress covers are all included in the price. You do not need to buy anything yourself.
- Full or partial packing Book the whole property packed, or just the kitchen, fragile items, or a few rooms. Partial packing is priced lower and confirmed in writing.
- Fragile item handling Glassware, ceramics, artwork, mirrors, lamps, and electronics are wrapped individually in bubble wrap and protective paper, then packed in reinforced boxes with padding.
- Furniture wrapping Larger furniture is wrapped in protective blankets and shrink wrap before loading, even if the piece does not need dismantling.
- Labelled boxes Every box is labelled with the room it belongs to and a brief description of contents. This makes unpacking significantly faster at the other end.
- Combined with removal Packing can be booked as part of a house or flat removal. It is usually cheaper to combine than to book packing separately.
- Packing the day before (recommended) For larger properties, packing is usually done the day before the move so the crew can load and go on moving day. Packing and moving on the same day is possible for smaller properties.
How packing with SmartyMoves works
- Get a written quote Call 07482 053493 or fill in the quote form. Tell us property size, what you want packed (all rooms, kitchen only, fragile items only), and whether packing will be booked with a removal. Julian confirms a written quote. No deposit.
- Confirm your date and packing day Once you accept, we lock in the packing date. For larger properties, packing is usually the day before the move. For smaller properties, packing and moving can happen on the same day.
- Packing day — full or partial The crew arrives with all materials. Fragile items are wrapped individually, furniture is protected, and every box is labelled with room and contents.
- Moving day The already-packed boxes and wrapped furniture are loaded and transported. Fragile items are stacked separately and loaded last.
- Unloading and unpacking (optional) Everything is unloaded and placed in the correct rooms based on the labels. Unpacking is available as an add-on for kitchens, bedrooms, and living rooms.

Packing services across Manchester
Packing services are available across Manchester and Trafford, with the same coverage as our removals. Here is what packing typically involves in the areas we work in most.
Wythenshawe
Our home base. Most Wythenshawe moves are family homes with a lot of volume — packing is usually booked the day before so the move completes in a single day.
Stockport
Mix of period and new-build properties. Fragile-item packing is common here because of the number of older homes with glassware, artwork, and period features.
Cheadle
Family homes with more volume per move. Full packing is usually booked the day before the removal so the crew can load and go on moving day.

Frequently asked questions about packing services in Manchester
How much does a packing service cost in Manchester?
Adding full packing to a move typically increases the total by £200–£1,000 depending on property size. A 1-bedroom flat full pack is usually £150–£300. A 2-bedroom flat is £250–£500. A 3-bedroom house is £400–£800. A 4-bedroom house is £600–£1,200. See our full pricing guide.
Do you supply the packing materials?
Yes. Boxes, tape, bubble wrap, protective paper, wardrobe cartons, and mattress covers are all included in the packing service price. You do not need to buy any materials yourself. If you prefer to supply your own boxes, we can pack using yours — tell us when you request the quote.
How long does packing take?
A 1-bedroom flat takes 1–2 hours. A 2-bedroom flat takes 2–3 hours. A 3-bedroom house takes 3–5 hours. A 4-bedroom house takes 5–7 hours. For larger properties, we often pack the day before the move so the crew can load and go on moving day.

Yes. Fragile items — glassware, ceramics, artwork, mirrors, lamps, and electronics — are wrapped individually in bubble wrap and protective paper, then packed in reinforced boxes with padding. TVs and monitors are wrapped and transported upright. If you have unusually high-value or antique items, tell us when you request the quote.
