Privacy Policy

How SmartyMoves collects, uses, and protects your personal data — and the rights you have over it.

SmartyMoves is a Manchester house removal firm operated by Britania Logistic LTD. We collect a small amount of personal data in order to quote for and carry out moves, and to respond to enquiries. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal language.

1. What personal data we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out a move, or to respond to an enquiry. That is:

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Payment for a move is taken on completion, and any card or bank details are handled separately at that point.

2. Why we collect it (lawful basis)

Under the UK GDPR, we need a lawful basis for processing your data. The bases we rely on are:

We do not rely on consent for the core quote and booking process, because the processing is necessary to provide the service you have asked for. If we ever wanted to use your data for something optional (such as a testimonial), we would ask for your consent separately.

3. Google Forms and quote submissions

Our quote and contact forms are built with Google Forms. When you submit a form, the information you enter is stored in Google's systems and is accessible to SmartyMoves.

Google acts as a data processor for the form responses, under the Google Workspace Data Processing Addendum. Google processes data on infrastructure primarily in the United States, and transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum [citation:2]. Google may also set certain cookies when a form loads (such as NID and CONSENT) and process limited technical data such as IP address [citation:2].

We use Google Forms because it is a secure, widely used tool and it keeps the data in a system we can access and delete on request. We do not use the responses for any purpose other than quoting, booking, and carrying out your move.

4. Cloudflare and Vercel (hosting)

This website is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare. Both are infrastructure providers, and both process limited technical data as part of serving the site.

Cloudflare provides security and performance services. It sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function, such as __cf_bm (bot management) and cf_clearance (challenge state). These are used to protect the site from malicious traffic, not to track you across other websites [citation:5]. Cloudflare may process cookie data in its US data centres, subject to its cross-border transfer terms [citation:5].

Vercel provides hosting and infrastructure. Vercel supports UK GDPR compliance, implements appropriate security measures, and relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum for transfers outside the EEA [citation:11]. Vercel's Web Analytics product, where used, stores anonymised data and does not use cookies [citation:6].

Neither Cloudflare nor Vercel is used by us to identify individual visitors for marketing, and we do not sell or share data with them beyond what is necessary to serve the website.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with lead-generation platforms, marketing lists, or third-party advertisers.

We share data only with:

We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to comparison sites, lead brokers, or marketing lists. If you request a quote from SmartyMoves, the quote comes from SmartyMoves.

6. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires:

If you ask us to delete your data and we are not required to keep it, we will do so.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 9. We will respond within one month, as required by the UK GDPR.

8. How to complain

If you have concerns about how we have handled your data, please contact us first — we will try to resolve it directly.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection. You can do so at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
